We are also looking to find many more designers over the coming months for help with our other new product Design Systems Manager and arranging early access for that. However InVision as a whole is now over 500 people strong. It has taken 2 years to reach this stage and I’m not entirely sure of the numbers of people involved. It came from a tool called Macaw, that we (InVision) acquired and they were making their own improvements initially but felt unhappy with their outcomes so they decided to embark on a new journey and design their own screen design tool instead. “What we have achieved however with the Studio is that there is no need for this anymore, we have brought all the tools you need within one CRM.”Ī short time later I got chance to speak with Mindaugas Petrutis, EMEA, Success InVisionįrom what I have understood people are really keen to learn more about The Studio, I asked how many people were on the team to bring this to fruition? “People can still use Sketch and Photoshop alongside it, they will still work with Studio“ he went on.

“I’m most excited about #InVisionStudio-especially a closer look at animation and protoyping!” – Michael Koga, on the most exciting part of tonight’s event #DesignPlus /iVzRjyTCAO Its not fully ready yet but we are designing our own products using Studio at this time.” “We did a Studio tour in 7 cities with a designer doing the demo up until last month and had over 45,000 sign up in the first few hours of launch, and 155,000 total for Early Access. “Ultimately, we know we only have one chance to prove Studio and we have always delivered” said Ryan Burke, Senior Vice President InVision on the night. With the claims on this tool being of such a high level they have been rolled out very slowly to be beta tested with trusted supporters. When speaking with some of the attendees it was seen as improving communication within teams and bringing an end product even faster to the end user. The teaser video below demonstrated its fundamental abilities, yet I feel we may have only scratched the surface.Īt the InVision Design and Drinks event held on the 18th of January at The Botanical Garden at Opium over 200 people registered to attend and mix with the team who created Studio. If you are into Screen Design then this app is worth exploring for you. And I know there are fantastic people behind those apps (the team of inVision, and Framer - love them all), they can do that! We need to give them time and wait for the better times. The release of the latest InVision App has been a highly anticipated event. Hope in the near future those CRAPs will perform as they should (I wish that will finally happen!). This technology is excellent, but for the right cases.

Slack (similar technology) is also slow and shitty, but you are not using it so heavily as you would use the design software (sketch, photoshop, etc.), so it can be slow. Just imagine, how awesome those apps would be as a native app (SWIFT for the macOS), that would be amazing considering what those apps can do. Otherwise, everyone would shape their opinion based on firs feel, and that would be the end of those products. They acquiring industry faces to promote their products, etc. That is why they need to persuade decision makers, team principles, you by sales talks (face to face). Have you ever wonder why those companies/products like Framer, inVision Studio always making "presentation events" and not releasing the product itself to the public? (to us, designers to evaluate right away the product). If you are ok with the performance FLAWS, God bless you :) those are great apps.

#Invision studio beta pro
I have tested all of them using MacPro (trashcan), hi-end MBP and many iMacs (not the iMac Pro tho), same results. This is why I don't use design software based on the web technology (If I don't have to), it looks excellent on marketing images, but in the real world scenario, it's unusable. This is the primary concern of the technology, so don't expect they will fix that in near days/weeks ) So you should feel that the apps are slower, and also less responsive. After the processing is complete the data going to the native site via the BRIDGE. The problem is with the BRIDGE constantly processing information back and forward (especially animations), so when you are dragging something (like the artboard - OMG!), the whole calculations are done in the js side. figma, framer, the performance is the issue. Like the other fake/web-based "apps" f.e.
